Metros around the world

I'm apparently fond of public transportation, as these are the metros I've ridden around the world.  Well, when it's efficient, why not?  DC, Madrid, Tokyo... all very easy to navigate.  Yeah, I'm talking to you, ATLANTA.

While the fog in my brain is still drifting, here's a quick recap of the Vegas trip:

  • Jimmy Carter was on our flight there.
  • I almost threw up from the turbulence.  I don't know about Jimmy, though.
  • Taxis are a very important commodity in Vegas.
  • 6 beers for breakfast is not a good idea.
  • Something in the air there makes you sleep a lot less.
  • I get cranky when I sleep a lot less.
  • I really ought to go out dancing more.
  • It's all about who you know.
  • I put a dollar in, and I didn't get a car (but I got $20)
  • I married George Clooney.
  • I really, really hate cigarette smoke.

24 hours until I arrive at the airport to meet

2 of my very best friends for

4 days in Vegas along with

19 other great girlfriends that I've known for over

7 years, spread out in

1 hotel and with

7 rooms between us for our

1 trip together (per year) and a hell of a good time.

Give me the cure

After work today, I will be hopping onto a plane bound for West Palm Beach, where I will be greeted by Sus and taken to someplace that provides respite for those travelling from Hartsfield-Jackson.

I will most likely be back and forth from West Palm to Fort Lauderdale, intermittently shopping with Ms. Shopper Extraordinaire, parking my ass on a beach, and dancing on top of bars.  And we all know the cure for nearly-bitten-off-tongues, don't we?

Looking Toward A Long Weekend

Tomorrow I fly home for a long weekend of family and friend events.

My mom is throwing my sister's baby soiree.  The Chinese say it's unlucky to throw a shower before the baby arrives, so Jordin's little party will take place this Sunday at one of the restaurants in the hotel where we're staying.  Also, as a little pre-birthday treat from mom, we're doing a few days at their Canyon Ranch Spa, which is perfect since it will be all rain and muck outside due to the stupid hurricane.  Have I mentioned that I love my mommy?

I'll also get to see my girls and we'll have dinner and a night out on the town on Sunday.  It's been a while, and I'm ready to paint the town red.
