Schmoopies Night Out

The boy wouldn't give me any hint as to where we were going to dinner, so I was squealing with delight when we pulled up to Nan.  LOVE thai food.

Nan

It is certainly a fancypants thai place, at that.  The food was exquisite:  everything from the coconut milk salmon to the lychee sorbet.  Yum.  The place is gorgeous, too.  I had no idea looking from the outside, but it's beautiful.  The bathrooms are even stunning.  How could you not love this?  The lacquered walls... a must have!  Gorgeous sink, too.

Gorgeous!

My gift to him was a gift card for an instructional couples massage.  We both (hee!) get massages, they teach us how to massage each other, then they send us home with goodies to play with.  It's the gift that keeps on giving!

48 hours of fasting are over!  Hooray!

I'm not going to lie.  It was hard.  Very hard.  The first 24 hours sucked, but the second got better (except for the time when I thought going to the gym was a smart idea and wondered why I felt like dying after only half a mile).

I also lost 8 lbs. in the process, which is probably due to flushing out all the detox juice.  Overall I do feel much better after fasting.  Ending it with a Java Jive omelet and coffee didn't hurt, either.  Mmmm...

So now I hope not to ruin everything by opening too many bottles of cava tonight.

Happy New Year!

Detox

To say that I ate, drank, and was merry would be an understatement.  My mom's cooking is good enough reason to drive all the way to Florida, plus we had a decadent dinner at Bob Amick's new restaurant down there called Luma.  Yum.  It wasn't too over-the-top (a lot less gimmicky than Piebar), except for the obnoxious Ferrari parked out front.  Please.  My favorite still remains to be One, but I digress.

Now that I've hauled my pickled and bloated ass back to Atlanta and realized I still have boxes and boxes of chocolate and cookies and god knows what else I shouldn't be eating, I think it's time for some inner cleansing. Tomorrow I'll be starting the Arden's Garden Two-Day Detox.

I know - TRAGIC.

But really, it seems like a good idea since I can't really fathom ingesting anything else at this point.  The boy has done it, and like a champ.  I, on the other hand, will probably whine and throw a fit.  I've already told him I should not be liable for anything that comes out of my mouth or flies out of my hand for those 48 hours.

In the past week I've received:

a bag of Lindt truffles
a box of Godiva
two boxes of Russell Stovers (which I may have to bite my way through to see if I like)
a tower of boxes from Mrs. Fields cookies
a Harry and David's basket
a bottle of wine

PEOPLE, you are NOT helping the waistline!
