Netflix eliminating profiles

June 19th, 2008 § 6 comments

I got this email from Netflix yesterday: Hate. Honestly, this is the only distinguishing feature that sets Netflix apart from Blockbuster, etc. The Mr. and I can keep our respective horror movies and romantic period dramas apart, yet both get them at the same time in our package deal. And what about all of the movies separated in queues as of now? Their advice: print out all your other queues and enter each movie one at a time. FUCK YOU. Is this what they're calling "improving the user experience"? Really? Bye bye, Netflix. A brilliantly stupid move on your part.

also, all of the movies that i have rated will go away. no more recommendations for me. they’re not even offering the ability to migrate my profile to an actual paying account, not that i would want to do that. gah.

  • Pamela says:

Yeah, I got that yesterday, too. There are 394 items in my queue! There’s no way I have the time to scooch them all to Levi’s. I’m thinking that I’ll be switching to Blockbuster at the end of August.

  • Chris Cactus says:

Why would they do that? I don’t see how that would really impact the functionality of the site.

Show netflix and the world how you really feel! Spread the word!

  • Pamela says:

They’re keeping the profiles! And now I’m kind of sad because Blockbuster is right next to my chiropracter’s office. I’m much to lazy to build an online queue again if not forced.

yes! I got their sniveling little email. SO happy!
