The Apple recall involves 1.8 million Sony batteries used in 12-inch iBooks and 15-inch PowerBooks sold between October 2003 and August 2006, according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission statement.

Shite.  Mine's a 17" Powerbook, so does that mean I'm safe?

  17″ does not equal 12″ or 15″ so yes, you are safe.

  I have a 13″ inch macbook so I’m also safe.

  I think so, but I have a fairly new 14″ that gets really freakin’ hot sometimes when running on the battery. I see a visit to the Genius Bar in my future. :-/

  mine is a 13″ macbook, but I’ll have the fire extinguisher close just in case!!!
