These are some of my favorite books. I was obviously a humanities major.

Invisible Man changed my life. We had the best teacher guide us through that in the 11th grade. Usually overanalysis of a teacher takes away from a book, but this really enhanced this masterpiece. Grapes of Wrath and pretty much all of Steinbeck were my favorites for a while. How did I end up an economics major. I’m eating up James Clavell right now. Try Shogun or Noble House.
You have excellent taste. As a reader, may I offer up a suggestion to read The Shadow Of The Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon? I think you’d enjoy it.
Love, love, love Invisible Man. When I lived in OKC, Ellison’s hometown, I cruised the ruins of his old neighborhood and was sad to see there was no plaque or memorial. Now the area is all condos and chain restaurants. Gotta love America.
very nice…read kafka in the original sometime…i was actually trying to remember the opening of Die Verwandlung just now…hmmm…unruehige Traume and Ungezeifer are in there…i know that…
