Thank you to everyone who came out for drinks last night, especially since it was so last minute: Tony & the gorgeous Geester, Dave and his sister-who's-so-young-it's-embarrassing, Bobafred, Maigh, Hakeber, Duane, Mark... did I forget someone? It must have been those 7-8 Hoegaardens...
It really meant a lot to me that you all were there. I probably wasn't the best company, but you all cheered me up immensely. And thanks for the sage advice. Honestly, it was totally worth waiting for two years to finally make some really cool and decent friends here. Love you guys!
In other news, I'm flying home to Borlando after work to see family, eat lots of Chinese food, and take 29847264 pictures of my niece. See you kitties when I get back.

I'll be at The Highlander around 5:30 pm today for a post-work, drowning-my-sorrows-pity-party on the patio for a few.
I promise not to bite.

The Braves game on Monday night was fun, especially during the rain delay. We basically had a huge party in the stands chanting and drinking beer. The game resumed, but we were good little boys and girls and stuck to our 9:30 curfew so that we could be up early for Tuesday's events.
The boy was picked up and taken to Lenox for the Peachtree Road Race, and I met up with him at the finish line at Piedmont Park. Now I know why everyone really loves the Peachtree - drinks were served starting at 8am, Park Tavern was packed, and mostly everyone was drunk by 10. I had my nalgene filled with mimosas (a brilliant idea formulated by the boy's friend), so I was feeling grand by the time the boy showed up. We headed to the Waffle House for a post-race meal (was I the only one that saw the irony in that?), then it was time for a much needed family nap. Molly cooperated fully.
Later it was off to the obligatory 4th of July cookout held by friends, who always put out a fabulous spread. Vodka tonics in one hand and tasty food in the other, it was a great time. We headed home to sit on the deck and watch fireworks, but the rain caused plan B (aka watch Entourage) to go into effect.
A happy 4th, indeed.
