Mommy Dearest(s)

I read a lot of blogs that I don’t necessarily link to on this page, including a bunch of "mommy" blogs.  Although your Mingaling does not intend to reproduce anytime soon, it’s very comforting to know that there isn’t a total and complete loss of personality after one births.

A few of my favorite mommy blogs include the soon-to-be mommy Amalah, mainly because she’s just so damn funny and can imitate Britney Spears better than anyone I know.  Another is Suburban Bliss, who again offers hope of a parenthood not obsessed with minivans, lawn care, and no apparent loss of cynicism.  And then there is the Dooce, who, quite frankly, needs no explanation.

There are also my girls, who are all amazing women and mothers.  I can’t imagine how they do it, and am awed by them day after day after so many years.  Separated by distance, we still manage to speak to each other daily and have been through a whole lot of ups and downs together, and a hell of a lot of discussions about potty training.
